All tasting was blind.

The bottle you see Aaron Coe holding is a sparkling bottle of Santasti, a palate clenser the judges thought
was a nice alternative to have on hand to water.

My good friend Harry Ryan who was our chief judge for the 2009 judging was diagnosed with terminal cancer earlier this
year and has been valiant in his couragous battle. In Harry's honor this year we award the E. Harry Ryan Certified Sommonlier Best of Show award for the highest award in the Northwest Food and Wine Festival Judging. The Best of Show was a dead heat among 6 judges therefore we awarded two.
